Ultramicro- and micro-determination of chloride by argentimetric titration with the indicator dichlorofluorescein.

چکیده
A reliable ultramicro modification of the Franco and Klein (1) determination for chloride, using 20 pi. of plasma, is described. A second procedure, requiring 0.2 ml. of plasma and substituting a titrating syringe for a buret, is suggested as a fast and adequate substitute in the absence of either extensive laboratory facilities or trained personnel. Data on reproducibility and recovery, and a comparison with another chloride procedure are presented. The limitations of the procedures are discussed.

Ultramicro determination of chloride.
A simple technique has been described by Wigglesworth (1937) for the determination of chloride in as little as 0-3 ,ul. of fluid. This is based on the Volhard titration and has been used in this Laboratory since 1947 for the examination of fish and crustacean blood. While the results obtained were satisfactory, the tedious back titration and the comparatively impermanent end point were found to...
متن کاملNon Aqueous Titration for the Determination of Azelaic Acid: Introduction and Method Validation
Alpha-hydroxylic acids are widely used in the treatment and control of skin disorders. Azelaic acid is a naturally occuring Alpha-hydroxy acid that can be formed endogenously from long-chain dicardoxylic acids, metabolism of oleic acid or omega oxidation of mono carboxylic acids. It shows bacteriostatic and bactericidal activities against aerobic and anaerobic micro-organisms present on acne-be...

A highly selective copper (II) coated graphite sensor was prepared by 1,13-bis(8-quinolyl)- 1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxatridecane (kryptofix 5) as a supramolecule ionophore into plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane. The best response characteristic was observed using the membrane composition of PVC = 30.0 mg, dioctyl sebacate (DOS) = 63.5 mg, palmitic acid (PA) = 3.0 mg and kryptofix 5 = 3.5 m...
متن کاملKey Considerations in the Determination of Polyelectrolyte Concentration by the Colloidal Titration Method
Medium or high charge density cationic polyelectrolytes are frequently used for water treatment. In the papermaking wet-end they are used as retention agents or as flocculating aids. Negative polyelectrolytes that enter the papermaking system increase the demand for cationic polyelectrolytes. Polyelectrolyte concentration can be determined by the colloidal titration method, using either of two ...

ITRATION of the chloride ion with Hg(II), using s-diphenylcarbazone as an indicator has been discussed by Laitinen (1). This is a one-color indicator which at pH 3 is colorless in the unmetallized form and forms a violet Hg(II) complex. The violet color is seen at the end point of the titration. Schales and Schales (2) used s-diphenylcarbazone as the indicator for the mercurinletric titration o...
